From the back cover:

"The scandalous headlines are only the beginning
Payton hasnt seen Nate Evans in years not since he used to hang out with her brother at high school. But now she and Nate are guests at the same wedding when the notorious millionaire offers her a wild proposal a sexy, scandalous and irresistible affair!
Nates outrageous proposition was supposed to stay only paper thin; it was merely a ploy to distract the tabloids from another, all-too-real scandal. But neither expected such a very public affair to prove so very hot in private Or to have such lasting consequences..."

Another Modern! I'm on a bit of a roll at the moment, it's the kindle sale's fault!

The hero Nate has been out of the society limelight for a while dealing with a rather difficult situation that he would like to keep private. When he sees the heroine Payton, whom he knew when they were younger, he asks her out thinking he can both deflect the attention away from where he has been by having a high profile relationship with heiress Payton, as well as finally being able to act on the desire between them. Payton has secretly desired Nate for a long time and it is not long before they are taking their pretend relationship to a much more passionate level. However, Payton is not used to short-term affairs and she begins to fall for Nate, so when Nate realises things are getting too real between them he breaks things off. Payton is left heartbroken but tries to move on with her life, but that becomes difficult when she discovers she is pregnant - something that brings back bad reminders for Nate.

I really enjoyed this story. I like Mira Lyn Kelly's voice and style of writing, there is a lot of edge to her storytelling that makes her books feel very fresh. The plot is absorbing and well thought out - I liked the society setting and the fact that this felt realistic. The heroine is really well crafted, there is a lot of sadness in her but she also manages to be independent.
The interactions between the hero and heroine really lights up the pages, and there is plenty of chemistry throughout the whole book.

A fun, interesting, and emotional read.
