From the back cover:

"Texas is a long way from Oregon, but Amanda Allen isn't planning to make her stay in Brody's Crossing permanent. All she wants is to meet the brothers she only recently discovered she had and head back out—mission accomplished. But what to do about Leo Casale? The tempting Texan is doing his level best to make her feel right at home.
Leo is completely captivated by the stranger with secret! written all over her. He wants to help her, but Amanda refuses to confide in him. Does she have to be so stubborn and independent?
Things are happening way too fast. Suddenly, Amanda has a whole new family to get to know, including a certain irresistible charmer who's making her believe that she belongs here, too!"

This is another book I bought while I was in American in May. I really like the American Romance line, and those of you in the UK interested, selected titles from this line are now available each month in ebook form on the Mills and Boon UK website.

The heroine Amanda travels to this small Texas town of Brody's Crossing in order to meet her two brothers for the first time, who don't even know of her existence. Amanda is dreading this task as she realises that her brothers will be angry with the fact that their mother left them in order to raise Amanda after their father abandoned her. When Amanda arrives she meets the hero Leo, whom seems very interested in her. Leo is a former professional gambler with a case of wanderlust, and he is intrigued by Amanda. He also recognises that she is hiding something, but all his attempts to find out are ignored. However, he manages to convince Amanda to spend time with him and they begin to grow close. Amanda tries her best to find out about her mothers life before she left and about her brothers and she knows that it is not going to be easy for her, and her anxieties causes tension between her and Leo.

This is a surprisingly good read. I have to admit that the I often find the titles and/or blurbs of the American Romance line a little cheesy and off-putting. However, I loved this book from start to finish. The plot is full of emotion, with two complex and damaged characters that are written with refreshing honesty. The plot itself is also very original, and brilliantly executed by the author. I really enjoyed reading the relationship developing, and the book has a wonderful and almost gentle flow that really draws you in.

This is a wonderfully warm romance that is thoroughly enjoyable.
